Recently, we’ve seen an increase in account fraud. As a friendly reminder, here are a few tips to help keep your funds safe and quickly identify any potentially fraudulent transactions.
- Make sure to keep your address, email and phone number up to date so we can contact you quickly if suspicious account activity is suspected.
- Do not write down your debit card number or PIN or share it with others.
- View your transaction details frequently with online or mobile banking.
- Notify the Credit Union immediately if you identify suspicious transactions on your account.
- Download and use the State CS CardNav app. Set transaction spending limits and geographic controls and easily turn your Debit Card “off” when not using it.
- Set up transaction alerts through the CardNav app to know each time your debit card is used.
- Don’t respond to unsolicited emails, phone calls or text messages asking for account or debit card numbers, or other personal information.
- Only log into online banking using our official mobile banking app linked from our website, or directly through our official website at statecs.org.
- Keep your phone locked. Use fingerprint or face recognition, if available, and set screen to lock after a short period of sitting idle.
- Choose strong, unique passwords for your devices, apps and logins for all sites.
- Browse and shop safely online. Look for the lock button and “https” at the beginning of each website url to ensure it is a secure site.
- Use secure Wi-Fi. It’s best not to use public Wi-Fi at all, especially when banking online.
